Idaho brought with it a full range of emotion and pain. It was milestone because it marked the completion of one state and the beginning of another. The trip overall had many high points and a few low points. I (eddie) would have to say that the majority of my low points, those sour moments occurred in this state. Idaho was consequently a testament to Meg's infinite patience which I tested through the difficulties I had endured.

Southern Idaho has an austere beauty. There are regions of the state where rivers will disappear into the ground and reappearing miles and miles away seeping out of the ground or cliff side formations. This is attributed to the ancient lava flows that cover Southern Idaho. Just as the hidden springs erupt from what seems like nothing the farm land has been cultivated out of the vast barren land as well. Large scale irrigation has allowed farming to exist in what is otherwise a dry arid climate. It is a state transformed by both nature and man.
