outside ready to leave mary's

We woke up for a late morning after a wonderful night of sleep. Mary came over to the house to prepare breakfast for us. We had such a filling and soothing breakfast talking with Mary and eating our French toast, eggs and drinking tea. Needless to say we got a late start but the sun had come out and we were optimistic. We quickly hit Pennsylvania where the sun left us for the rest of the day. We were struck by the great road conditions in PA and in NY. Once in NY, the rain and a bit of thunder decided to return. Luckily Eddie got his flat tire (#3) fixed before we got stuck in the rain. The rain increased when we stopped in Barcelona, NY and didn't look like it was going to stop all day. We opted to grab a motel in Westfield, NY rather then push onto Dunkirk. Hopefully we can get an early start tomorrow morning before the main part of rain kicks in. At least for now we are clean, dry and full of diner food.

Well this recent hotel trend is starting to grow on me. Nice comforts so far away from home. This morning brought us a leisurely breakfast at the hands of Mary, our Scottish grandmother in Conneaut. Her wonderful hospitality has us wondering if our next bike tour will be in the United Kingdom.
