We ran some errands and watched Marc at work "pulling cane" for some new glass pieces. After cleaning up we drove over to Carpenter & Main, Pete's new restaurant that opened in Norwich VT for an amazing evening filled with good food.

Rumors of rain tomorrow but I will have faith for clear skies. Regardless of weather, I am feeling strong and am excited to complete this amazing journey.

Carpenter and Maine's opening night was amazing. We got to see Peter and his whole family engaged in a project that has been one of Pete's visions for so long. It was wonderful to see a whole town coming together to build a place to eat and commune with each other. It should do really well. I remember reading some of Peter's menus that he would compose back in college and was beguiled at his understanding of food and his skill in execution as well.

Before settling in for our inaugural meal, we spent the early evening drinking and conversing with the Washburns, family friends of the Irelands. I forget how great the energy is in New England. I would love to spend more time in Vermont and perhaps at some point in my life live here for a little while as well.
