better than a dental dam - no seeum netting

Super 8 and Le Tour de France! Today was entertaining. Luckily Eddie and I were feeling patient and scheduled a nice short day for tomorrow. We kept having to take detours around flooding and out-biking hungry dogs. Indiana - nice people with mean dogs.

I was laughing so hard at Eddie that I could barely steer. When detouring around on flooded path, we had to pass these 2 dogs 3 times. One was a tiny yapper, the other a clueless golden retriever. They were fiercely guarding a miniature donkey farm. I deferred to screaming "Go home!" and "Stay-back!" while Eddie preferred throwing peanuts, squirting water, then brandishing the bike pump screaming, "Hey you little piece of shit, you want a piece of this!!!" I was dying. So funny but…it worked.

About 20 miles from Huntington, we stopped by Doul's orchard for fresh cider and tree-ripened peaches. After chugging a half-gallon of cider, Eddie's stomach started going crazy. We had to dart off route about a mile to Urbana where Eddie unleashed the cider beast. That was not the end of it so we had to quickly dart into the Wal-Mart in Huntington. I got new flip-flops while Eddie emptied his entire lower GI tract. We opted for the Super 8…OLN was a bonus. Wonderful! A little Tour de France, some breakfast, a haircut for Eddie, and a new chain for me.

We ran into the flooding that we had heard about on the news weeks ago from the heavy rains. It caused a few detours but nothing that drove us too far off route. See Meg's entry for more embarrassing details.
